Becuase the focus is done in this manner and the lens isn't linked to the viewfinder makes the Rollei 35S perfect for street shooting becuase you don't have to hold it up to your eye to focus, it's tiny size also supports this stealthy approach - I've always been a bit self conscious when it comes to shooting street photos and these days folks.

The shoe on the Rollei 35 is (infamously) on the bottom, and that'd just be too weird-looking a rig, so I'm gonna keep guessing. Another reader's suggestion to push 400 film a couple of stops, thus shooting pretty much everything at f11 and up, was a pretty grand idea, too. How big is it? Just big enough to fit a 35mm roll of film in. Not one millimeter larger. It'll fit in the palm of your hand! The only slightly smaller cameras were the Minolta TC-1 and Minox 35. The Tessar lens was a 40mm f/3.5. Very, very sharp and contrasty lens.
